Vanessa Mooney win!

Look at this beauty I won on Madeline 's blog!  This necklace is the first thing I've won like..ever. I enter giveaways just to amuse myself because I don't win shit.

So obviously I was definitely shocked when I got the email saying I won.

Here is the necklace!

Yeah..I'm stoked.

Happy Friday, have a great weekend!

She's Got A Way

Have you ever checked out this amazing online vintage shop called Tunnel Vision ?  If you haven't, well then go on the site and have your mind blown.

I have been eyeballing this skirt for months and whenever I wanted to buy it, something always came up & I had to spend my money "wisely".  It's kind of big on me, but I'm determined to make it work, I mean come on!..It's perfect.

Bad Attitude

If you are awesome, you know that this blog post title is a Bad Brains song.

I cannot explain to you how loud I blast that song on my way to work somedays.

Now back to the outfit!

So let me tell you about this fringe kimono.  I got it at urban outfitters in Georgetown, original price $98, sale price...$14.99! Say whaaaaat?!  Of course I bought the one with the color roses & the black roses...duh.  Don't you love it when you stumble upon something magical?

DIY-Muscle Tank

Another quick & easy DIY post!  Muscle tanks!! I swear I'm going to every local thrift store there is to find some awesome men's graphic t's to cut into muscle tanks.  There's just something so easy about them.  This will probably be my summer attire.

Sidenote:Sorry(not really) for the not so grand photo quality.  I was too lazy to find my camera & just used my iphone.

Materials Needed
white eyeliner(or some light colored pencil)
measuring tape
(I picked up this sweet tie dye graphic t from my local thrift store.)

I used another muscle tank that I got from Forever 21 for my guideline.  I didn't want to make the sides too long, so I needed something to go off of.  Use the measuring tape if you want your tank to be some what symmetrical.   After I placed the Forever 21 tank on top of my new tank, I lightly drew around it so I could have a pattern & guideline to follow when I cutting my shirt.

I'm actually going to wear this muscle tank to work tomorrow, here are some necklaces I plan on layering with it.

Mind Eraser.

Don't you love it when you stumble upon something on ebay & then it manifests in your brain? All you can think about is hoping no one outbids you & then you cursing them out in your head when they do.  But win!  Happy dance.

That was the scenario with this little gem. I'm constantly checking out this ebay store, and my eyes locked in on this beauty.  I think I set my max bid at like $50.  Yeah I was THAT pressed on winning this little guy.

Eleanor Roosevelt.

Do you even know how f*cking inspiring, revolutionary, strong willed & good spirited Eleanor Roosevelt was?  I had a holy shit moment while reading Kelly Cutrone's second book 'Normal Gets You Nowhere'.  She was mentioning all the phenomenal achievements Eleanor attained throughout her life.  I don't understand why she doesn't have a dollar bill out there with her face on it.  They should replace the Statue of Liberty's face with Eleanor's.

Can you imagine your husband having an affair, but still having your shit together?  She was rarely in the White House with her husband, her focus was on civil rights and equal rights for all.  I suggest you read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

I could go on and on about how much I appreciate this woman, but I believe there is something called 'google' and you need to see for yourself how fantastic this woman is.  So for now, enjoy some pictures and quotes.

"No matter how plain a woman may be if truth and loyalty are stamped upon her face all will be attracted to her."

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

“A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong it is until it's in hot water.”

“Life was meant to be lived, and curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.”

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

“Remember always that you have not only the right to be an individual; you have an obligation to be one. You cannot make any useful contribution in life unless you do this.”
